The general approach in public administration has undergone a gradual renewal in recent years: besides a citizen friendly customer service which focuses on the needs of the citizen, the government committed itself also to social inclusion and the creation of equal opportunities.

In the private sector it is a usual practice to employ people with reduced work ability (besides people with special or serious illness, that includes also the group of people with disabilities). However, in public administration only few disabled people have been employed so far, and many areas have completely been inaccessible for them.

The aims of the Program are to promote social integration, to offer the chance for disabled young people considering their special needs to try out themselves in the national public administration, collect relevant work experience during their university or college studies.  Having finished their three-month internship, we expect them to enter the labour market with bigger self-confidence after graduation.
